Keepon has appeared on Entertainment Weekly’s Popwatch Blog.

Alt-rockers Spoon + tiny yellow dancing robot = a match made in YouTube heaven. The band (and throngs of YouTube viewers) so liked this video, of the little Keepon robot shimmying to the sounds of Spoon’s “I Turn My Camera On,” that an official collaboration seemed inevitable. Enter Wired magazine senior editor (and EW alumna) Nancy Miller, who helped conceive the follow-up video below, featuring members of the band and the robot’s creator playing second-fiddle to wee Keepon, who fascinates all of Tokyo while dancing to Spoon’s “Don’t You Evah.” (Directing the clip was Tribeca Film Fest sensation Jeff Nichols.)

If you’re in Los Angeles next month, you can watch a live reenactment of sorts at Wired‘s NextFest, at which Spoon will perform, accompanied by four dancing Keepons. The magazine promises other opportunities to interact with the adorable yellow automatons at the fest as well. (Hat tip to Pitchfork, where this story is augmented with even more Spoonabilia.)
